  • Why is the program named 22lookup?

The program began as a way to look up Hebrew/Aramaic words using the computer instead of in the dictionary. Since the language has 22 letters and the program was doing a lookup… I named the program 22lookup.

  • How did you get the words from the dictionaries into the computer?

For most of the dictionaries, I typed the words and definitions myself. I originally tried scanning the dictionary pages but found it to have mistakes and figured it was easier to just type in the contents.

  • Much of the material seems to be covered by copyrights. How are you sharing this?

Content is separated into material covered by copyrights that allow for free distribution and those that don't. In the second case, discussions are on-going to arrive at conditions to permit usage for 22lookup.

  • When will the program be availabe for sale? How much will it cost?

22lookup will be a stand-alone (not web based) program and will be initially offered on the Mac. Over time it is contemplated that distribution will also be facilitated on Windows, the iPad, and eventually on iPhone and Android.
The program may eventually offered free of charge in order to satisfy copyright concerns.

  • What is the purpose of the Club?

The club membership entitles the member to free updates of the 22lookup program and any dictionary updates. Additionally, club members are able to submit new dictionary words and meanings, Rebbe - Talmid relationships, and request for new topics for inclusion in the 22lookup program.
